CHIP welcomes two new Local Employment Groups!

CHIP is pleased to announce that we have started working with two new Local Employment Groups where they have joined the charity’s employment sponsorship scheme. The two organisations are Construction Youth Trust and Building Heroes.

Construction Youth Trust

Construction Youth Trust is a social mobility charity that works with young people in London. Its main aim is to support young people into meaningful careers in the construction industry. It does this through its ‘Pathways to Professional Careers’ programme. The programme supports young people into a range of construction courses and training, along with strong mentoring, to enable them to succeed in the construction industry.

Building Heroes

Building Heroes is a training and skills development charity that supports veterans into long-term employment within the construction industry. It offers training in various trades and management roles which is delivered through a five-week intensive course. Once trainees have completed their courses and training, Building Heroes works with sector and industry partners to help them secure further training opportunities and jobs using the skills they have learnt during the courses.

The funding that CHIP has granted to both Construction Youth Trust and Building Heroes will enable them to support more people into construction careers. This is particularly important because, with ongoing skills shortages in the industry, it is vital more and more individuals are supported and trained into the professions. CHIP is expected to support 19 people, by supporting these two organisations, in 2026/27, which includes 8 ex-service personnel and 11 young people. We look forward to being part of the journeys that support individuals achieve and impact this has on their lives.
